Attorney Information
Overview
Ms. Ashkenazi is a Partner at Wolfenson & Ashkenazi, P.C. Her current practice focuses on Real Estate matters, Wills, Trusts, and Estates (including Probate matters), as well as Guardianships. She regularly handles complex transactions and estate matters with a practical, client-centered approach, guiding individuals and families through significant financial and personal decisions. Ms. Ashkenazi also represents clients in guardianship proceedings and has been appointed by the Court to serve as counsel for alleged incapacitated individuals, a role she approaches with particular care and a strong sense of responsibility to protect the rights and dignity of vulnerable persons.
Prior to focusing on real estate and estate planning, her practice was dedicated to representing abandoned, abused, and neglected children, as well as working on high-net-worth matrimonial matters. That experience continues to inform her work today, bringing a thoughtful and empathetic perspective to matters that are often deeply personal. She found this area of practice especially meaningful, and she believes that work helps her to continue to support clients through important life transitions while helping to secure and protect their futures.
Ms. Ashkenazi has been named one of New Jersey's "Best Lawyers for Families" by NJ Family Magazine for four consecutive years, an award earned through client nominations. She has also received the “Client’s Choice Award” for six consecutive years on Avvo.com. She looks forward to continuing to provide her clients with the highest level of service.
Ms. Ashkenazi has been working with Urban Dance League, Inc. since 2013 in both a legal capacity and a board member-style role, providing guidance and direction for new ideas and opportunities. Urban Dance League not only creates a platform for dancers but also creates programs and safe spaces for children which is extremely important to Ms. Ashkenazi.
At Franklin and Marshall College, Ms. Ashkenazi was a co-founder of S.I.S.T.E.R.S (Sophisticated, Intelligent, Sisters, Teaching, Excellence, Responsibility, and Success), an organization that has been active for more than 20 years and, she notes with pride, has grown to more than 10x its original size since its inception. S.I.S.T.E.R.S is an organization that promotes intelligence, empowerment, and unity among women and Ms. Ashkenazi is still involved with current and alumni members.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
