Hired Attorney 2020Kim Flotteron is incredibly rude and unprofessional. She will make mistakes, misplace documents and then get snippy when asked about it. She has the worst attitude and speaks down to her clients for asking or inquiring about the status of things. Save yourself the stress and go with a different more knowledgeable attorney.

Consulted Attorney 2019Kim Flotteron Esq. is extremely rude and unprofessional. When I called her office today 5/26/2020 to inquire about a CO that her office received from my realtor for a closing she took part in, her office did not maintain a record of the document as they were unable to locate it. And she was extremely nasty when I asked where I could get this document for which she should have maintained a record of as a professional. She was yelling and not listening and then instructed her paralegal to hang up the phone on me. I for one understand having a bad day, but I do not understand how a professional can believe that they have the right to address anyone in such a manner. And I do not understand how a professional does not keep record of closing documents for a closing that took places less than 6 months ago. This is grossly unprofessional and someone's hard earned money deserves so much more.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
