Rob Johnson - Albuquerque, NM

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1970, and I have one sibling. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in History and American Studies from Georgetown College in 1992. While at Georgetown, I was president of the student government and was named the president’s most outstanding leader at graduation. In 1996, I obtained a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law. I began my legal career as a solo practitioner concentrating on several areas of the law, including personal injury, real estate, trust and estates, criminal, domestic, bankruptcy, landlord/tenant, collections, and civil litigation.

In 2005, I was appointed by Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher as one of the youngest circuit judges in Kentucky history. As a circuit judge, I heard all civil cases over $5,000, felony criminal cases, appeals from state and local agencies, and district court appeals. I was elected to the position of circuit judge in 2006 and 2014. In 2017, I was appointed by Kentucky Governor Matthew Bevin to the Kentucky Court of Appeals, 5th district, where I served until 2018, hearing appeals on three-judge panels from circuit court and workers’ compensation board determinations.

Upon leaving the judiciary, I again practiced as a solo practitioner in the abovementioned areas and civil appellate work. I also work as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, prosecuting criminal felony cases, including murder, rape, assault, and burglary. In 2021, I was appointed by the Kentucky Attorney General as a Special Assistant Attorney General to prosecute a felony criminal case through the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court. In 2024, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I began working for the Parnall Law Firm, LLC, concentrating on personal injury work.
