A lifelong Buffalo resident, Michael J. Hughes has represented property owners and municipalities across the state of New York in real property tax cases for over 30 years. His client base includes owners of a wide variety of commercial and high-end residential properties. Michael J. Hughes has also handled hundreds of commercial cases for the City of Buffalo, Town of Cheektowaga, and surrounding towns. His extensive experience representing municipalities has provided him with an invaluable perspective on all aspects of these cases; a perspective that is highly & uniquely beneficial to the private property owners he represents.
Michael J. Hughes earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University at Buffalo School of Law and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984. He is a past Chairman of the Erie County Bar Committee on Tax Assessment and Eminent Domain. He has lectured extensively on this topic over the years, to owners, realtors, and other attorneys, many of whom reach out to him on a regular basis on behalf of their clients.
