Scott T. Salmonson - Bay Shore, NY

Scott Salmonson is a Senior Partner at McIntyre Donohue Accardi Salmonson & Riordan, where he has spent over 20 years representing injured workers across New York City and Long Island. Since joining the firm in 2005 and becoming Partner in 2011, Scott has litigated complex Workers’ Compensation cases from intake through settlement and appeals, earning a reputation as a tireless and respected advocate for injured workers and their unions.

Scott has represented clients across a wide spectrum of public service roles, including corrections officers, police, EMS, teachers, transport workers, and social workers. He frequently advises union members from DC 37 and airline workers based in New York, helping them navigate the intricacies of injury claims. He also represents numerous 9/11 first responders, playing a leading role in a landmark 2014 case that expanded compensation access to a class of World Trade Center volunteers.

Originally trained as a Certified Public Accountant, Scott graduated Cum Laude from Lehigh University and earned his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law, where he served as Notes and Comments Editor for the St. John’s Law Review. His legal career began at Price Waterhouse in tax advisory before moving into elder law, estate planning, and ultimately Workers’ Compensation in 1998—a field he has remained in ever since.

Scott is known for treating clients with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion, listening carefully to their needs while fiercely advocating on their behalf. He frequently speaks to unions, legislators, and advocacy groups, working to both educate and improve the legal landscape for injured workers. In 2020, he was recognized as a Schneps Media Labor Law honoree.

Scott resides in Suffolk County with his wife Lisa. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, staying active, and volunteering with local organizations such as FREE, the Bronx Clergy Task Force, and Sunrise Day Camp.
