Firm Information
Overview
At McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan, LLP, we are proud defenders of workers' rights. We have helped workers in Bronx, New York, assert and defend their rights since the Great Depression. Our law office first started out by practicing general law, but by the 1950s, our founder decided to focus solely on workers' compensation and adjacent areas of law.
How We Protect Workers In New York
Our law office takes on cases in three main areas: workers' compensation, Social Security Disability (SSD), state disability and New York City Employees' Retirement System (NYCERS). While handling these cases, we help our clients get the compensation they need to cover medical bills and pay for other losses caused by their injuries.
Sadly, in some cases, our law office represents the survivors of injured parties. These people often leave dependents behind whose futures depend on our ability to defend their rights.
Why You Need An Attorney
While recovering from your injuries, you might not have the energy or resources to fight employers and big insurance companies. There is also a small window within which you can continue to pursue justice. To make matters worse, one wrong move can cost you everything.
This is why our clients trust McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan, LLP, lawyers to handle the hard work - so our clients can focus on self-care. We look forward to doing the same for you.

Hired Law firm 2020-2022Trust the people at MDASR I am a male, 74 years old, who was injured while employed by a national company. I turned to chiropractic to ease my pain and get me quickly back to work. My chiropractor told me that I had broken a vertebra and the discomfort was going to last months, maybe forever, and advised me to never return to my job. He also told me that I needed to file for worker’s compensation. After some Internet research, I discovered that receiving worker’s compensation involved more than simply completing some forms, sending in a doctor’s note and waiting for the money to arrive. I needed an attorney. I discussed the situation with my chiropractor and orthopedic surgeon, and both said many of their patients had had great success dealing with McIntyre, Donohue, Accardi, Salmonson & Riordan. (MDASR). I immediately contacted them, one of the smartest decisions I have ever made. I had saved myself hours of dealing with government employees in Albany, filling out an endless stream of paperwork and waiting for insurance companies to call me back—not to mention what I consider to be a fair settlement that I absolutely know I would not have received if I had wandered around the worker’s compensation labyrinth alone. Having dealt with attorneys for years as president of an advertising agency, I can tell you that they are “on vacation,” “out to lunch” or “in a meeting” more than any other profession. Usually, they finally contact you long after you’ve forgotten why you originally called them. Not so at MDASR. They took me under their collective wings, explained every detail of the process, treated me with respect and returned my emails and phone calls almost immediately if I did not reach them the first time. Everyone I talked to knew exactly what was going on with my case and, importantly, they have a crackerjack team of proactive paralegals, especially Senior Paralegal Marie A. Gerke and Paralegal Kayla Thompson. They, more than anything, convinced me I was dealing with the best law firm for me. Lesson learned: Your employer has an attorney, so does the insurance company. You need one, or better, a team to protect your rights. Don’t make the mistake of going it alone or with attorneys other than MDSRA. And their fee, which was determined by a worker’s compensation judge, was more than equitable and just one more reason to conclude they are good people.
