Overview
Avi Lew, Esq. is a partner at Korsinsky & Klein, LLP where he co-heads up the firm's Commercial Litigation and Employment Law department. Before joining Korsinsky & Klein, Avi was a partner at Warshaw Burstein, LLP. Prior to that, Avi was associated with a large national law firm and also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York.
Avi has extensive experience in all phases of litigation from pre-litigation negotiation and inception of actions through trial and appeal. His experience includes state and federal practice, arbitrations, mediations, trials and appeals. His practice involves a wide variety of matters including general and complex commercial litigation, contract and business disputes, employment law issues, real estate litigation, as well as construction law and Surrogate's Court litigation.
Avi's employment law experience includes representing employers and employees in matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, family medical leave laws, wrongful discharge, misappropriation of trade secrets, partnership disputes, etc.
Avi has published on a broad variety of subjects, and some of his articles have appeared in the New York Law Journal and Law 360. Avi has published on diverse topics including employment law and international law and has lectured on employment law.
Avi earned his J.D. in 1994 from Fordham University School of Law where he was an editor of the Fordham International Law Journal. He received his B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1991, where he majored in Economics, graduated summa cum laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and received the award for Excellence in Economics.
