Took $4000.00 from our family to settle a custody case. Quit before finishing the job to focus on his other interests. Question his intentions.

Dave really puts his all into what he does and makes sure to stay focused on what family means. He makes sure to keep in contact and goes above and beyond helping his client he does all he can to make sure you are the top priority and gets back to you in timely manner he is very professional and fair to both sides of the situation. Making sure he includes all feelings of both parties and helps with what you need at all times. Awesome lawyer! I recommend him highly to anyone that needs his assistance. Thank you Dave!

So very disrespectful, took $2000 from me an offered terrible service, no communication told me to find another attorney he could careless.. I have never worked with someone who is so disrespectful to his clients. Hung up right in my face an basically told me I'm on my own. It is 10/29/21 an I'm not sure if I will ever get my money back. I had a family court issue an he helped solve absolutely nothing!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
