Hired Attorney 2025Working with this lawyer was a terrible experience. We interviewed many lawyers and she was by far the worst. We needed someone who was easy to work with and she complicated the situation with her incompetent lawyering. This lawyer does not communicate and she bills for work not performed. Brynde Berkowitz does not value ethics or honesty. Overall she is completely incompetent and unethical.

Hired Attorney 2004Not a good lawyer. Bills for work not performed. Misses deadlines. Lies in court. Not well respected. Self-serving and unethical.

Hired Attorney 2023-2024Ms berkowitz is an excellent and knowledgeable attorney. She worked hard to get the best outcome and worked well with all parties to do so. She is very well respected by judges and other attorneys. She took calls even while on vacation to answer questions and provide guidance. Highly recommended!

Hired Attorney 2022-2023Ms. Berkowitz represented a member of my family. Her kind demeanor and focused Professionalism made me at ease right away. I knew right away We had the right person to take charge of the situation. The outcome was better than We had hoped for! It was dismissed with prejustice. That means the issue can not be brought up at a later date. Thank goodness We made the right choice!!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
