Overview
Christopher M. Falconetti was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 2002. He began his legal career as a law clerk in a workers' compensation firm while attending law school at Hofstra University School Law. Upon graduation and admittance to the New York State Bar, Christopher M. Falconetti has represented thousands of injured workers before the Workers' Compensation Board and Appellate Division, Third Department.
In 2011 Mr. Falconetti joined the firm of Bangel & Cohen thus creating Bangel, Cohen & Falconetti. From his first year of Law School Mr. Falconetti has dedicated his efforts to representing injured workers. With a family history rooted deeply in the union trades and civil service there is no surprise of the strong bond and mutual respect Mr. Falconetti shares with his clients. While overcoming challenges and obtaining unprecedented results are motivating factors, helping those that are injured and in need are what he finds most rewarding.
Now a partner in Bangel, Cohen & Falconetti, LLP, Mr. Falconetti continues vigorously fighting for the rights of his clients to recover benefits they are entitled to under the Workers' Compensation Law. In the past, Christopher M. Falconetti has been privileged to conduct classes and seminars for various local unions, health care professionals, and many others, providing pre-accident education and information that is absolutely essential to protect and educate workers, medical professionals, and union members. In 2016 he was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers as well as being a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, Queens County Bar Association and Injured Workers' Bar Association.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
