Overview

Lawrence J. Komsky graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York in 1981 and from NYU School of Law in 1984. Mr. Komsky started his career with a Judicial Clerkship for Judge William H. Dapper at the US Department of Labor where he worked exclusively with federal workers’ compensation and labor statutes. In that role, he received formal recognition for outstanding service.

Thereafter, Mr. Komsky moved on to his role as Assistant Corporate Counsel for the City of New York in the Workers’ Compensation Division of the New York City Law Department; a position he held for three years.

After his roles in working for federal and city governments, he continued into the private sector where he took on the role as Managing Attorney for Weiss & Wexler, PC. He held that position for nine years lecturing regularly on various aspects of the New York Workers’ Compensation Law and handled high profile cases on behalf of numerous insurances carriers and self-insureds.

Mr. Komsky thereafter founded his own workers’ compensation litigation defense firm where he successfully grew his firm over the next twenty-two years into one of the premier firms in the business. During that time, Mr. Komsky prided himself on his relationships with various insurance companies and self-insureds. He continued to hone his skills of negotiation and also was representing injured workers which provided his basis to move on and join Bangel, Cohen & Falconetti, LLP as Special Counsel where he earnestly continues that work.
