Not only is Attorney David Baram unprofessional and rude, he seems to lack any and all knowledge of the legitimate legal system, but if you are an individual with excess money to spend and looking to pay a lawyer to conduct illegitimate legal proceedings then the corrupt & contemptuous David Baram Esq is certainly the person for you (I would refer to him as the "attorney" for you, but professional titles are reserved for those hold their esteemed professional title with dignity and honor). There isn't an option to leave zero or a negative amount of stars so because a rating is mandatory I gave him 1 star, even though he is not personally or professionally morally worthy of any stars. I would not recommend this law firm for even the most basic services. If you have an experience like I did, Mr. Baram may actually verbalize to you what he said to me when I questioned why my phone call to him was never returned and he literally said to me that he was "in Europe almost all summer", but that still does not explain why his partner wasn't covering his cases in his absence and why he chose to still ignore my voicemail message upon his return from his extended vacation.

I had a dispute with Capital One bank over a $1735 charge to my credit card. I had been in contact with Capital One but had reached an impasse. On January 7, 2022 I contacted Mr. Baram about this. I gave him my documentation and $1500 and he wrote a letter to them on my behalf. As I had not heard anything from Mr. Baram, I called him on April 20th. He said that Cap One never responded to his letter, He had done nothing further. What to do next? I asked him. He said he would need the terms and conditions of the credit card and asked me to get them. I got them and forwarded them to him on May 12th. As of today, July 18, 2022, I have heard nothing more from Mr. Baram.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
