Overview

Michael Chetkof was admitted to practice in 1964 and is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Matrimonial Bar Association of Suffolk County, the Matrimonial Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, and the Matrimonial Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association. He is a seasoned trial attorney and negotiator, who has litigated hundreds of cases and settled hundreds more. His practice has included complex matrimonial, personal injury, commercial and insurance defense matters.

Michael has served as a Matrimonial Arbitrator in the Supreme Court, Nassau County as part of the Early Neutral Evaluation Program. He has lectured on Matrimonial Law and participated as a panelist and lecturer on various programs offered both to practicing attorneys and the public at large. He is also Certified as a Guardian, Court Evaluator and Court Examiner in Guardianship Proceedings.

Michael is a Barrister of the New York Family Law American Inn of Court and serves as an Arbitrator for the Office of Court Administration's Matrimonial Fee Dispute Panel.He is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell which is the highest rating available.
