Wendy S. Van Dorn is Of Counsel for the firm who joined in 2026. Prior to her employment with GLRR, Ms. Van Dorn worked at the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department for five years as Deputy Executive for the Committee on Character and Fitness and as a Principal Appellate Court Attorney in the Law Department. In addition to working for the Court, Ms. Van Dorn has over 27 years of private practice litigation and jury trial experience in both Federal and State Courts. She was responsible for handling medical malpractice, architecture and engineering malpractice, professional liability, products liability, complex personal injury, commercial litigation, and employment litigation cases. She successfully represented hospitals, physicians, dentists, nurses, midwives and other health care professionals in defending malpractice lawsuits and she represented architects, engineers and land surveyors in construction litigation matters. She also represented corporate defendants in multiparty mass toxic tort and asbestos related cases. Ms. Van Dorn was selected to serve as an Administrative Law Judge at the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights and litigated a wide range of employment related cases on behalf of directors, officers, employees, companies, municipalities and school districts in State and Federal Courts as well as before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights and New York City Commission on Human Rights.
Ms. Van Dorn received her Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1993 and graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the Isenberg School of Management in 1990. She is admitted to the New York State Bar as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. Van Dorn is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York.
