Attorney Information
Overview
Caitlyn Collins is an Associate Attorney with the Fast Law Firm P.C. passionate about criminal defense. In 2025, Caitlyn relocated to New York City and joined the Firm after clerking for the Hon. Judge David Newell at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
Believing that every person is entitled to a compassionate and competent defense, Caitlyn has spent her entire legal career in criminal defense. During law school, Caitlyn interned for the Criminal Justice Clinic at St. Mary’s University School of Law, the San Diego County Office of Public Defender, and the Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Texas’ Capital Habeas Unit.
Prior to law school, Caitlyn held various finance and human resources roles at The University of Texas at Austin. Feeling the pull to do more service work, Caitlyn worked as the office manager for Feeding Texas before finally applying to law school. Caitlyn knew criminal defense was the right career path for her after she wrote to every prosecutor in Texas asking for criminal justice reforms.
Caitlyn graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where she also served as the Editor in Chief for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice. Upon graduating, she was recognized with the Pro Bono and Public Service Award and received the Dean’s Award for distinguished graduates.
Caitlyn holds a B.A. in Art History from The University of Texas at Austin and earned an M.A. with merit in Latin American Art and Architecture from the University of Essex in Colchester, United Kingdom. Caitlyn is barred by the State Bar of New York and the State Bar of Texas.
