Overview
Ms. Solomotis graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in Criminal Justice. During her time there, she divided her interests between working in a cognitive behavioral neuroscience research lab and working in community correctional facilities and reentry programs. Upon graduation, she spent a year volunteering with City Year New York to teach math and behavior development to 7th grade students in East New York. Ms. Solomotis then went on to work as a paralegal in a boutique litigation firm that specialized in complex civil litigation and white-collar defense.
Ms. Solomotis later furthered her education at Brooklyn Law School where she obtained her Juris Doctor. While in law school, Ms. Solomotis served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law where she published her note - NATO Allies on the Brink of War: The Case for Implementing a Dispute Resolution Mechanism Within the North Atlantic Treaty. Ms. Solomotis also participated as a Student Attorney in the Disability and Civil Rights Clinic where she represented individuals in a disability discrimination dispute against a landlord as well as in a guardianship dispute. Throughout law school, Ms. Solomotis held numerous internships including with a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of New York where she gained valuable insight into motion and trial practice. Additionally, Ms. Solomotis worked as a law clerk for various litigation firms that specialized in sexual harassment and employment disputes where she cultivated her passion for employee rights.
