My experience with "The Shusterhoff Law Firm" and Samuel Shusterhoff (specifically!) was fantastic! Samuel handled two real estate transactions for me. He was the perfect teammate! Throughout the process, Samuel kept me apprised of important details and answered all questions that I had with thoroughness, compassion and understanding. He leads with strength, direction and determination, but remains friendly and accessible at all times. He is unbelievably detail-oriented and left "no stone unturned" in his effort to bring my homes sales to the finish line. Samuel is proof that a lawyer can be strong and results-driven, but, at the same time, remain kind, cool and friendly! Dealing with Samuel Shusterhoff is a QUALITY EXPERIENCE!

Sam is a wonderful attorney who went the mile to be helpful, on target, and supportive to our recent real estate transaction. He was efficient, knowledgeable, timely, responsive, and professional. We definitely would recommend him for future clients looking for an amazing experience! Debbie and Allan Mumford

My company hired Sam Shusterhoff to handle a real estate lease for one of our properties in Manhattan. The task was efficiently handled and Sam was very proactive in the process. He was always one step ahead in making sure we hit our deadline. In addition we received great customer service. Sam would regularly update us on the status of the lease and was available whenever we needed him. I would highly recommend using him.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
