Consulted Law firm 2020This attorney was referred to me from a Met Life Insurance Plan. I had a very urgent legal matter that required assistance. He took 2 days to call me back after I had initially contacted him. On the phone he offered me adequate legal assistance, although not offering me much more than I already knew. He did look on line for me for what I needed of him on a Massachusetts matter, although he then grew increasingly uninterested when I asked him to look into NYC Civil Court Judgements-claiming "oh, NYC is just too time consuming and impossible to navigate" . When we concluded our call, I asked him to send me. email me the results of what he had uncovered in court filings from another state. He never did so. The following day i called him again, asking him to return my call. he did not return my call. The next day i called him again and asked him to email me the court documents. He did not. I called him several days later to remind him again. he never did. After two weeks, I grew angry and told him that I would file a complaint against him if he did not do as I asked and that he had been paid to do. He then finally called me, cursing at me and threatened me vociferously telling me he see to it that " ..you'll never work in Westchester County again !" I told him he was a lazy thief. I stand by my assessment and urge the community to boycott this attorney and find someone else to help you. This review is accurate and truthful to the best of my knowledge.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
