Overview
Neil E. Kozek has over 30 years of experience representing clients throughout New York State. He litigates, mediates and collaborates family law matters involving complex distribution of property, spousal and child support, custody, time sharing and parenting plans, domestic violence and real estate. Mr. Kozek is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Family Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation. He is a highly experienced litigator and mediator, as well as a founder of the Collaborative Divorce Practice movement in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Kozek was instrumental in founding the Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Rockland-Westchester and the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals (past President). He formerly served on the Board of Trustees for the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He has been teaching Collaborative Practice skills and professionally lecturing on the topic for more than two decades. Mr. Kozek is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association, Family Law Section. In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Kozek has been rated AV Preeminent by his peers and the Judiciary in Martindale-Hubbell. He is also a founding member of the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators.
Mr. Kozek was granted membership to Phi Beta Kappa in 1984 and graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University with a BA in Psychology. He earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law and received his license to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. He is an active member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District of New Jersey as well as the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Kozek also belongs to the Family Law Sections of The Westchester County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and has been a member of the New York County Matrimonial Mediation Program as well as the First Family Law American Inn of Court in New Jersey.
