Overview
A graduate of Carnegie-Mellon, Mr. Tilem attended Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York. In 1991, he began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Prosecuting hundreds of criminal cases, Mr. Tilem received national recognition including honors from the New York City Police Department. During his time as a Senior Prosecutor with the DA, Mr. Tilem shared his knowledge with prosecutors, police officers and schools, conducting training and educational sessions.
After a decade of public service, Mr. Tilem turned to private practice co-founding Lenihan & Tilem, LLP. He continued to receive national recognition, representing clients in high-profile cases. Mr. Tilem appeared on CNN and 60 Minutes in connection with one of such cases. During this time, he broadened his litigation practice, representing clients in criminal, civil and family litigation and became well-known for his achievements in State and Federal Courts.
In 2004, Mr. Tilem founded Tilem & Campbell with attorney John Campbell. Working as a team, they aggressively protect clients' rights in negotiation and litigation.
Mr. Tilem represents clients in the State Courts of New York and Connecticut, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York and the District of Connecticut. Additionally, he has appeared pro hac vice in State Courts in Maryland and New Jersey and in a federal court in New Jersey.
