Overview
Steve is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Washington University School of Law. He has practiced law for over 24 years, concentrating on family law matters for over 16 years, and is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2009. He focuses on all family law matters, including separation and divorce, child custody, grandparent rights, child and spousal support, property and debt distribution, business family law matters, premarital agreements, enforcement of orders and agreements, domestic violence and military family law. He is experienced and knowledgeable in resolving family law disputes, whether through litigation, negotiation, mediation or the collaborative law process. He practices in numerous counties throughout North Carolina.
Steve has a strong belief in the value of public and community service. He is active in the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, both serving on committees and volunteering to mentor new attorneys, and the Mecklenburg County Collaborative Law Practice Group. He is an Attorney Volunteer for the Domestic Violence Legal Representation Project representing victims of domestic violence, and volunteers as a Children’s Advocate with the Council for Children’s Rights, representing children in high-conflict custody disputes. Steve has wide-ranging experience and knowledge in family law matters and enjoys speaking to groups about the law and his experiences in this important practice area.
