Parrish Hayes Daughtry, is a native of Dunn, NC and has practiced with the firm since her admission to the bar in 2000. She is a highly respected criminal defense attorney in North Carolina who carried on her sisters’ legacies by attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a BS in Psychology in 1997, where she was a Morehead Scholar and Junior Class Marshall. In 2000, she graduated from Campbell University School of Law where she participated on one of the national moot court competition teams, was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, received the Mildred Harmon and Norman Adrian Wiggins Scholarship and was inducted into the Order of Old Kivett. She also received the National Association of Women Lawyers Award and was a research assistant.

Upon joining the firm, Parrish practiced routinely in criminal defense, civil litigation and domestic law. Since approximately 2014, Parrish has concentrated her practice in the area of criminal defense and litigation and handles cases and trials in both district and superior court, ranging anywhere from traffic violations to major felonies. She has extensive trial experience in complex criminal matters and has argued and appeared in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Her voluminous criminal practice keeps her in court almost daily predominantly in Harnett County. Parrish has also been very active in her local and district bar and has served as president, vice-president, and treasurer during her career for both groups. She has been a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers since 2000 and was an Order of Service recipient in 2016. She has a Martindale Hubble Preeminent AV rating by her peers.

Parrish has served on numerous local civic organizations, often as an officer, including the Dunn Junior Woman’s Club, the Harnett County Business Education Partnership, the City of Dunn Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Harnett Health Foundation Friends Fighting Cancer Committee, the Central Carolina Community College Foundation Board, Citizens for Harnett Educational Fairness, the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce, and in several roles with the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Selection process. In addition to those roles, Parrish has volunteered within the local public schools continuously since 2007 in numerous roles including as a tutor, PTO officer, Booster Club member and officer, School Improvement Team member, Advisory Board Member and President, Strategic Planning Committee member, as well as coaching Mock Trial Teams at both Dunn Middle (regional winners and 5th in the state) and Triton High School (regional winners and state finalists).

Parrish was recognized with the Rick Juberg Service Award by Dunn Middle School in both 2016-2017 and 2022-2023 school years and recognized by the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce in 2017 as the Dunn Woman of the Year. She is also active in the Church, the Frist Presbyterian Church of Dunn, where she has served for in the past on the Weekday School Council Member and since 2010 as a current Finance Council Member.

While Parrish loves her work and giving back to her local schools and community, her greatest time by far is enjoyed at home or the beach with her family. She adores her three sons with husband of more than 25 years, Larry Daughtry, a local builder and real estate firm owner. In her down time, you will find her doing the things she loves most which typically involves her children, being somewhere on the water, cooking for a crowd at her home, enjoying sporting events, her three dogs and cat, and most of all, time spent with her husband and their boys.
