Consulted Law firm 2026The Attorney Johnathan Anderson did not advocate for my adult son who has a mental disability to leave a group home that he is living at risk of abuse. The Attorney as a Guardian Ad Litem is supposed to by law hate my son's best interest but Attorney Johnathan Anderson does not have that. Despite my son telling him that he wants to go home and despite the Attorney being made aware that the conditions of living in groups homes keeps my son living at risks for abuse. I made the Attorney aware that every home that my son has lived in under the overly restrictive means of care of guardianship, he has been abused. Attorney Johnathan Anderson did not advocate for my son to move to live under a least restrictive means of care. Title II of the Integration Mandate of the ADA states that guardianship should be the "last resort". No individual can have the best interest in an in individual while at the same time is violating a law that is designed to protect that one. Attorney Johnathan Anderson as a GAL for my dear adult son advocated for him to remain living at risk for abuse. In addition, this Attorney ignored my email correspondence to him, in regards to my son. I would not recommend any Attorney like this.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
