Overview
Laurie B. Gengo is the founder and owner of Triangle Law Group ("TLG"), a small boutique law-firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina which opened in April 2008. TLG is located near Crabtree Valley Mall, convenient to I-440, I-540, and I-40.
Laurie is a native of Jamestown, New York and received her Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1980. Laurie received her law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985 where she also was a Ph.D student in Political Science, and served as an Instructor for the 1985-1986 academic year. Laurie is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of North Carolina and the owner of Trilogy Real Estate Group, LLC, and a co-owner of several real estate investment LLC's.
Laurie formerly was an associate attorney at Barnes & Thornburg in Indianapolis, Indiana, the State's largest law firm. Thereafter, she worked as an associate and later as a partner at Poyner & Spruill, a large law firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she handled numerous real estate, environmental, and litigation issues. Laurie left Poyner & Spruill to join The Sanford Holshouser Law Firm in Raleigh, North Carolina founded by former Governors Terry Sanford and James Holshouser. At Sanford Holshouser, Laurie's work included environmental, litigation, and economic development matters.
At TLG, Laurie continues to handle complex litigation matters and also handles an array of other matters, including those involving construction law and defect issues, liens and bonds, contractors and subcontractors issue, toxic mold and other environmental claims, homeowner's association issues, business law, real estate law, landlord tenant issues in both residential and commercial contexts, contract matters, and licensing issues for general contractors and real estate brokers.
Laurie belongs to the North Carolina Bar Association, Real Property, Solo and Small Firm, Litigation, Law Practice Management, Business Law, and Construction Law Sections, and served on the Environmental Law Section Council from 1998-1999. She also belongs to the Wake Women Attorneys. Laurie has presented numerous seminars for the National Business Institute, Lorman Education, the North Carolina Bar Association, and various trade organizations on various legal topics. Laurie also had taught the paralegal certification review course on civil litigation. Laurie formerly served on the Board of Directors of The Opera Company of North Carolina (now Opera Carolina) for over ten years. In her spare time, Laurie is a visual artist and enjoys supporting Second Chance Pet Adoptions. She also is a supporter of the National Comedy Center located in her hometown of Jamestown, New York.
