    Hired Attorney 2025
My 92 year old mother died in January, went in January to Ms.Sremak. Told me to use a disillusionment it would go quicker. Two months unless courts pulled her case. After three months I called to see what was happening, was told waiting on snail mail. In June my sister called and found out we had been pulled by courts. She never notified us. She did get the job done called to ask if I wanted to pick up the paperwork or mail it to me. Ask her to mail it to me. Was lost in mail did not receive paperwork in mail till July 18. I did go to her office before the 18th to pick up the court documents. The job was done and it was done correctly but her lack of communication and her not keeping us informed caused the problems and made me an unhappy customer. In the end it took from January to July to get a small bank account and two small IRA’s

    Hired Attorney 2016-2018
I think Miss Scremack is way too timid to be a lawyer. I was recommended to William by a friend. I hired William, and they pulled a bate and switch on is. After paying the retainer fee, he gave the case to his daughter, Rebecca, who did not fight for us at all. She pushed us into signing papers by threatening that if we didnt sign and be done with it, this would get way worse for us and we would lose everything. If I would of known that she would end up on the other side, making it easy for the other party to get everything they wanted, I would of never hired him. This was a custody case that happened about 7 yrs ago, she helped the narcasistic father get 50/50 custody and now the child is suffering the consequence of her actions. He endures mental and physical abuse all the time and begs his mom to tell them court people to change this custody. These 2 scammers should be brought to justice themselves for ripping people off.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
