Biography

Archie W. Skidmore was the founder of Skidmore & Associates Co., LPA and practiced law in Akron, Ohio for nearly 70 years. Born in 1926 in West Virginia and raised in Akron, he devoted his life to serving the legal needs of families, individuals, and businesses throughout Summit County. Archie began his legal career in 1955 and continued practicing with unwavering commitment, integrity, and professionalism until shortly before his passing in 2025.

Archie was the recipient of the Akron Bar Association’s Distinguished Professionalism Award, a recognition reserved for attorneys who embody the highest standards of ethical practice and service. For decades, he was known for his meticulous preparation, principled advocacy, and deep respect for the practice of law.

He became a mentor to countless Akron attorneys — including each of his three sons, who proudly followed him into the profession and continue the family firm today.

His legacy endures through the continued work of:
