Overview

Jeff takes on the firm’s litigation matters for its regular clients and clients of other law firms who often refer Jeff their litigation matters. In his role as a litigator, Jeff handles litigation matters in the real estate and business settings. Matters range from zoning and land use disputes to complex litigation in business, trade secret, and partnership breakup matters. He practices in both state and federal courts. He also focuses on related appellate work. Jeff’s accomplishments include a jury award of $5.5 Million along with recovery of his client’s attorney fees in excess of $2 Million after a 6-week jury trial. In another matter he secured a settlement returning a $37 Million Dollar facility back to a local government.

Jeff balances the stresses of litigation with a diverse background in business and real estate transactional law. In this part of his practice he focuses on business start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, risk management, and strategic planning. His litigation experience informs his transactional work helping clients prepare contracts and business transactions that are as litigation proof as possible and his transactional work informs his business litigation practice allowing insights to client cases that most trial lawyers do not have.

Jeff is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and the University of Akron School of law where he graduated cum laude and was an excelling member of its nationally recognized mock trial team. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Northern District of Ohio Bar, the Ohio State Bar, the Akron Bar, and the Medina County Bar. He has been selected by his peers as an "Ohio Super Lawyer" in litigation practice by Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine/Cleveland Magazine.

Jeff is a native of Wadsworth, Ohio, is active in his local community, and serves on the board for St. Genevieve’s Church located in Holmes County and named an Ohio historical landmark. He is a contributing member of the Akron Bar Foundation. He now lives in Sharon Township where he and his wife Elianna have focused on raising their three children. He and his wife enjoy their children’s activities, the outdoors and traveling together to near and far away destinations.
