Jennifer Lunn is a patent attorney and Ph.D. chemist who helps companies protect innovations across chemistry, materials science, life sciences, and mechanical technologies. Her scientific background enables her to quickly understand complex technologies and develop patent strategies around them.

Jennifer focuses on U.S. and international patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, freedom-to-operate analysis, and patentability and invalidity assessments. Her experience spans polymer compositions and processes, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, batteries, OLED technologies, glass and films, drilling fluids, membranes, filters, adhesives, and mechanical tools and devices.

She also counsels clients on international patent prosecution and portfolio management, coordinating protection across Europe, Asia, North America, and other markets. Jennifer has monitored competitive patent activity and assisted with patent litigation, including scientific and technical analysis and claim analysis.

Before practicing law, Jennifer earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, where her work included organic and inorganic synthesis, pharmaceuticals, sensors, polymers, biological processes, and drug-delivery technologies. She also taught general and organic chemistry.

Jennifer gained early intellectual property experience with both the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the International Trade Commission. At the USPTO, she worked in Technology Center 1600 on patent matters involving life sciences, biotechnology, and chemical compounds. At the ITC’s Office of Unfair Import Investigations, she assisted with Section 337 patent infringement matters, including technological analysis, patent licenses and settlement agreements, and legal research.
