Attorney Information

Overview

Michelle Mendelsberg Terán originally joined the firm in 2004 as a legal assistant and has been a practicing attorney in the firm since 2009. She has a total of 20 years of experience in the field, 15 of those years as an attorney. During that time, Michelle has obtained over $24 million in case settlements for more than 2,000 clients.

Michelle earned her B.A. in Political Science from University of Kentucky in 2004. While she was a student, she held several leadership positions and chaired multiple committees. This leadership activity continued while she was at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where she attended as a part-time student and maintained a full-time job with the firm. She also was an active volunteer for the Women's Crisis Center of Northern Kentucky from March 2007 until 2010.

Michelle has been married since 2011 and has 3 beautiful children, who she adores. Being a mother has bred a large sense of empathy and compassion, as well as patience. This, combined with her innate sense of justice and ethics, is why she works so hard to make sure every client is heard and obtains the best result possible.

Michelle is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Michelle is admitted to the practice of law in Ohio.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
