Attorney Information

Overview

Brooke Meneses’ practice encompasses all aspects of divorce, dissolution of marriage, child custody and support, parental rights and responsibilities, grandparents’ rights, and adoption. Brooke has a passion for helping clients navigate these difficult legal issues knowing that the outcome of these types of cases not only affect the here and now but the rest of a client and their loved ones’ lives.

Before becoming an attorney, Brooke spent her undergraduate years as an NCAA Division II volleyball player at Tiffin University. Thereafter, Brooke proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps from 2014 to 2018 where she served as a Combat Engineer Officer at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During her time in the Marine Corps as a Company Commander she trained, developed, and mentored hundreds of young Marines. Additionally, throughout her four years of service, Brooke served as a Uniformed Victim Advocate under the Marine Corps’ Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program providing sexual assault prevention training to young Marines and 24/7 support and advocacy to all Marine, Sailor, and military dependent victims of sexual assault. After concluding her service in the Marine Corps in 2018, Brooke has remained dedicated to the veterans of our country by serving as a mentor to criminal justice involved veterans through the Stark County Honor Court and simultaneously, as a board member for The Honor Foundation of Stark County, Ohio, a non-profit organization that provides specialized financial and recovery service support to justice-involved veterans and their families.

Since earning her J.D. in 2022 from the University of Akron School of Law, she has been selected as a 2023 ystark! Twenty under 40 award winner – an award given to young leaders of Stark County who have demonstrated dynamic leadership and social responsibility; named a 2024-2025 Best Lawyer “One to Watch” for labor and employment law; and named a 2025 Super Lawyers Ohio Rising Star for the practice of Family Law.

Outside of work Brooke and her husband, Sergio, enjoy spending the majority of their day-to-day with their four children, Sawyer, Colt, Shiloh, and Cruz – constantly transporting and supporting their older children in the multiple different sports and activities they are involved in year-round. Although it can be hectic at times, she loves her family’s busy, active lifestyle. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys traveling, coaching her children’s basketball teams, playing in recreational volleyball leagues with friends, and has just started training for her first appearance in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C this coming October.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
