Overview
Clayton Papenfus joined Cavitch in June 2024 as an Associate Attorney, bringing a wealth of experience to the business law practice. Licensed to practice law in both Ohio and South Africa, where he is also a fluent Afrikaans speaker, he offers a diverse legal perspective.
He earned his LLB and an LLM in International Business Law in South Africa, where he practiced law for three years before transitioning to an executive managerial role in a medium-sized manufacturing firm. In 2018, he relocated to the US, founding a small manufacturing firm and a logistics company in Cleveland. Continuing his legal education, he obtained an LLM from Cleveland State University in May 2023 and is passionate about assisting business owners in growing and developing their enterprises.
Clayton is actively engaged in the community, serving on the Board of the Chagrin Valley Jaycees, a local non-profit volunteer organization. Now a proud Cleveland resident, he has even been converted into a Browns supporter by his wife.
