Attorney Information
Overview
Northeast Ohio has always been home for Eric Tayfel. He grew up in Garfield Heights and currently resides in Brecksville with his wife Jill and twin daughters Lindsay and Madison.
From a young age, Eric knew that he wanted to be a trial attorney. After graduating from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1997, he honed his skills at the law firm of Gibson, Brelo, Ziccarelli & Martello. He also saw first-hand the difficulties that people injured and disabled encounter in getting the recovery they are entitled to due to the tactics of insurance companies and governmental agencies fighting against them. As a result, he’s always taken the side of David against Goliath.
In 2008 Eric realized his dream of opening his own law firm, Tayfel & Associates. He did so with a goal of not only zealously fighting for clients through the completion of their case, but also doing so with the integrity and compassion for his clients that other law firms simply don’t possess. His extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, and Social Security Disability benefits have earned him the respect throughout the legal community and helped him build long-standing relationships with his clients.
Eric takes tremendous pride in knowing that the vast majority of his clients come from clients that he has represented in the past who think highly enough of his firm to refer their friends and family. When you become a client of Tayfel & Associates, we want to keep you as a client for life.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
