Overview
Max Dehn is a shareholder with Cavitch, and focuses his practice on business and employment litigation. He has represented clients in a variety of areas, including employment discrimination, wage and hour matters, non-compete litigation, business contract disputes, and class action defense in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration forums.
Max chairs the firm's monthly employment law luncheon, and also provides counseling to business clients regarding their employment practices. Max has presented lectures to attorneys, business owners and human resources professionals on topics including non-compete contract litigation, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (the "FLSA").
Max has also worked with Cavitch attorneys Alex Goetsch, Mike Cohan, and Komlavi Atsou in successfully defending numerous class and collective actions. These include FLSA collective actions, Ohio Consumer Sales Protection Act class actions, and several large entitlement-based class actions brought against State of Ohio agencies, some of which were litigated over the course of ten years or more.
Max is a 2005 graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. In 2009 Max was selected as an Ohio Rising Star, an honor for outstanding new attorneys in Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1986. Before law school, Max directed the Tri-C JazzFest in Cleveland, and also developed nationally recognized programs in music and technology education.
Max lives with his wife and two sons in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio. He is a member of the Cleveland Employment American Inns of Court.
