Applying Nuance, Compassion, and a Knack for Details to Secure Victories for Injured Ohio Workers
Theodor “Teddy” Truta-Moldovan is an Associate Attorney at NRS Injury Law, focusing on workers’ compensation law. Courageous in trial, compassionate during client consultation, and well-organized in case-building, Teddy leaves no detail unexplored when crafting winning cases for injured Ohio workers.
A First-Generation Attorney with Working-Class Roots
Teddy’s background is such a classic American story, one cannot help but smile upon hearing it. Born in Romania but raised in the U.S., Teddy grew up in a working-class family to parents who left accomplished careers in Eastern Europe to pursue the American dream. From a very young age, Teddy learned the value of hard work, the importance of discipline, and the significance of community.
While in undergrad, Teddy worked as an intern, legislative page, constituent aide, and legislative aide for the Ohio House of Representatives. He quickly saw first-hand the importance of the law and how laws affect working Ohioans. Teddy describes it best: “My time in the State House was just the start, because, while I was in law school, I clerked for three law firms and saw a repeat of what I’d observed at the State House. The short version? Working people are at a disadvantage when injured, even with laws on the books to protect them.”
Committed to Overcoming Obstacles and Securing Victories for Injured Workers
Teddy has phenomenal organizational skills in his career as a workers’ compensation attorney, something he credits to a lifetime of unsurpassed work ethic and an understanding that attention to detail leads to success. Teddy has won numerous cases for his clients, utilizing a combination of detail-oriented nuance, personal compassion, and a willingness to research, consult, and examine a case from multiple angles to determine a winning strategy.
In addition to his legal skillset, Teddy is personally committed to helping others. “When I was still in college, my mother got injured at her job at Walmart,” Teddy said, describing his path to workers’ comp law. “My parents had taken working-class jobs in America even though they’d held high-level professional positions in Romania,” Teddy continued. “They came to the U.S. to pursue a dream we all believed in, and when my mom got injured, it was the crucible moment that led me to dedicate my life to helping injured workers.”
Work/Life Balance
When he’s not representing his clients and researching employment law, Teddy spends his free time with other attorneys in the Cleveland Metro Bar Association’s basketball league. Teddy is also an avid weightlifter and skier. On quiet weekends in Cleveland, he can be found going for walks with his partner and their dog, Pippin.
Don't Wait to Seek Legal Help from Teddy Truta-Moldovan
“Clients choose NRS Injury Law because it is the singular Goldilocks firm in Ohio,” Teddy says, outlining why he came to work for the firm. “NRS Injury Law is large enough to have the resources needed to help all their clients in ways other firms can’t, but it’s not so large its operations feel robotic, impersonal, or uncaring.” A people person at heart and a true advocate for working Ohioans, Teddy helps dozens of clients per week while servicing each with compassion, clarity, and attention to detail.
Teddy’s approach to workers’ compensation law aligns perfectly with NRS Injury Law’s mission to: “Provide empathetic and patient service to every person who calls the firm, and to relentlessly pursue the best possible outcome on behalf of every client by putting collective experience, knowledge, and passion to work every day.” To retain an effective legal team with a proven track record and to speak with Teddy and the firm about your case, call 855-468-4878 or fill out a convenient online contact form.
Community Impact
Growing up in a family that valued community, Teddy has been giving back for as long as he can remember. As a teen in high school, Teddy organized community cleanups and was a member of the environmental club. Teddy was an executive member of the Theta Chi fraternity at Ohio State University while simultaneously volunteering with the United Service Organization. During law school, Teddy led the rechartering of the Delta Theta Phi fraternity. In his final year, he researched, prepared, and presented a clinic plan designed to assist veterans through their benefits appeals process.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
