Joseph Bruce - Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Is an attorney at Hoover Kacyon, LLC, joining the firm in 2019.

Joe completed his undergraduate studies at Kent State University, earning his B.A. magna cum laude in Justice Studies. He attended the University of Akron School of Law, where he was an assistant editor of the Akron Law Review and graduated summa cum laude in the top 5 percent of his class.

During his time in law school, Joe gained valuable experience by taking part in various clinics that the University of Akron has to offer. In the Small Entrepreneur and Economic Development (SEED) Clinic, he provided legal and business assistance to small and emerging businesses, nonprofits, and other social enterprises in Northeast Ohio. In the Immigration & Human Rights Law Clinic, he provided direct representation to an asylum seeker detained by ICE and advocated before a U.S. Immigration Judge at the Cleveland Immigration Court. Joe also had the opportunity to intern at the civil division of the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office where he worked alongside prosecutors and aided in many lawsuits. These experiences provided Joe with the unique opportunity to sharpen his skills in effectively representing clients’ interests in both transactional and adversarial settings.
