Overview
Diane Medina brings over 30 years of high-level legal experience to StachlerHarmon, offering a unique perspective that blends decades of litigation with strategic in-house counsel expertise. Originally from the Dayton area, Diane spent a significant portion of her career in Southern California, where she earned her Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law and established herself as a seasoned advocate for businesses and individuals.
Diane commenced her professional legal career in 1990, specializing in complex business and real estate litigation. In 1995, she transitioned into the manufactured housing industry, serving as In-House General Counsel for a large property management firm. In this role, she represented owners, operators, developers, and managers of mobilehome parks throughout California. Her deep-seated expertise includes navigating the Mobilehome Residency Law and the Mobilehome Parks Act, as well as handling state and federal fair housing claims, employment issues, regulatory compliance, and landlord-tenant disputes.
In 2020, Diane returned to her Ohio roots and joined StachlerHarmon. While she currently serves as a paralegal, she remains an active member of the California Bar, bringing a sophisticated attorney’s lens to every matter she handles. At StachlerHarmon, Diane focuses her practice on estate planning, probate administration, business organizations, and corporate transactions.
Her extensive background—ranging from the courtroom to the corporate boardroom—enables her to anticipate potential legal hurdles, develop practical solutions, and provide unparalleled strategic support to both the firm’s attorneys and its clients. Whether navigating complex property rights or managing intricate corporate operations, Diane’s depth of knowledge remains a vital asset to the Dayton legal community.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
