Attorney Information

Overview

Driven Advocacy for the Injured

Michael Weisensel has dedicated over two decades of his legal career to one mission: leveling the playing field for the "little guy." With a career defined by an aggressive stance against powerful insurance corporations and their legal teams, Mike has successfully represented thousands of individuals who have suffered life-altering injuries due to the negligence of others.

Proven Litigation Excellence

Mike’s extensive courtroom experience sets him apart in the field of personal injury. He has served as lead counsel in dozens of first-chair jury trials and has navigated countless contested hearings, securing tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. His practice is comprehensive, encompassing high-stakes cases involving:

  • Wrongful Death & Catastrophic Loss
  • Commercial Trucking & Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • Complex Premises Liability & Dog Bite Litigation

Strategic Leadership & Client-First Approach

Before joining Rittgers Rittgers & Nakajima, Mike served as the Managing Attorney for the Dayton office of a prominent regional personal injury firm. While he excelled in high-volume environments, Mike transitioned to Rittgers Rittgers & Nakajima to return to his roots: hands-on, individualized representation. By maintaining a selective caseload, he ensures that every client receives the rigorous attention, investigative resources, and strategic planning their case deserve.

Academic Foundation & Community Roots

A native of Rochester, New York, and the son of a firefighter and a schoolteacher, Mike was raised with a deep-seated respect for public service and hard work. He earned his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1992, followed by his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in 1996.

Personal Life

Outside of the courtroom, Mike is a proud resident of Southwest Ohio. He is a devoted cheerleader to his three college-aged children, an avid traveler and loves to read. A lifelong enthusiast of his childhood sports teams, he is a vocal and resilient Buffalo Bills fan who cherishes game days as a time to connect with family and friends.
