With more than two decades of experience practicing law in both the private and public sectors, Michele Simonelli brings extensive legal knowledge, strategic insight, and compassionate representation to every client she serves. She focuses her practice on family law, including divorce, dissolution, child custody, child support, parenting time disputes, and other emotionally complex domestic relations matters.

Michele previously served as a Judicial Staff Attorney for the Ohio District Courts of Appeals for both the Eleventh and Seventh Districts, where she researched and drafted judicial opinions for a three-judge panel in a wide range of cases, including criminal and civil matters. This appellate experience sharpened her legal analysis and writing skills and gave her a strong foundation for navigating high-stakes litigation.

In private practice, Michele has spent over a decade representing clients in high-conflict family law cases, including custody disputes, parental alienation, and complex divorce matters involving closely held businesses, hidden assets, or financial misconduct. She also has a strong background in cases involving LGBTQIA+ families and is committed to providing inclusive, respectful representation to all clients.

Michele approaches every case with discretion, empathy, and a deep understanding of how legal challenges affect the personal lives of her clients. Her background in psychology and counseling allows her to communicate effectively and build trust with individuals navigating what may be one of the most difficult times in their lives.

In addition to practicing law, Michele teaches courses on First Amendment and Privacy Law at Kent State University. Her outside interests include cycling, kayaking, hiking, and urban exploring.
