Overview

Mr. Bailey has been a trial lawyer since 1983, and he won multiple Not Guilty verdicts in murder trials alone. He has also won Not Guilty verdicts in many other criminal trials.

Prior to that he was a tool and die maker for General Motors. He graduated from Bowling Green State University, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies in 1979. He then graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1982.

In 1983, Mr. Bailey was licensed by the Ohio Supreme Court to practice law in all state courts within the State of Ohio. Later that year he was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Then in 1985 he was admitted to practice in the Sixth District Court of Appeals. In 1992, Mr. Bailey was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, and in 2000, he was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

In 1994, Mr. Bailey attended the first graduating class of the Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. The college was founded by famed trial lawyer, Gerry Spence and has become one of the most sought schools by trial lawyers around the country.

For numerous years from 1990 to the present Mr. Bailey has appeared in Who's Who of American Law. He also received the President's Award of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers every year from 1989 to 1998, except 1996.

From 1995-1996, Mr. Bailey was the President of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a life member of OACDL and served on the board of the OACDL. He is on the Council of Delegates of the Ohio Bar Association and has also served as the chair of the annual two day death penalty seminar sponsored by the OACDL. He is also a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves on the editorial board of The Champion, the monthly publication of the NACDL.

In 2012, the American Bar Association awarded Mr. Bailey one of the techiest lawyers in the United States.

Mr. Bailey served on the Council of Delegates for the Ohio State Bar Association, as well as the Editorial Board of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for the "Champion".

Mr. Bailey has spoken at numerous seminars around the country, as well as in his home state of Ohio.
