Overview
ROBERT L. SOLT, IV represents employers in all aspects of workers' compensation law, with a concentration in litigation. Prior to joining Bugbee & Conkle in 2019, Rob built and maintained a successful private law practice representing clients in civil and criminal litigation. Rob also spent several years with a local law firm where he served as the prosecutor for multiple jurisdictions and as a litigation associate. The prosecutorial mindset and comfort in the courtroom transitioned seamlessly into his litigation practice. Rob has tried dozens of cases including jury trials as a prosecutor, a criminal defense attorney, a civil plaintiff's attorney, and as a civil defense attorney. Rob's clients have included small businesses and statewide corporations involved in contract and business disputes, various municipalities, complex probate litigation, several homeowner associations, and both state fund and self-insured employers in the workers' compensation arena. Rob has extensive experience representing employers in asbestos related claims for death benefits in the administrative process and in court litigation. Rob has also focused his practice on successfully defending Violation of Specific Safety Requirements (VSSR) claims.
Rob graduated from Sylvania Southview High School, and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he double majored in Political Science and History. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2011.
Rob is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Toledo Bar Association, and the Wood County Bar Association. Rob is also a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Wood County Bar Association and member of the Bar Admissions Committee for the Toledo Bar Association.
Rob has been involved with Bugbee and Conkle his entire life, as the son of Robert L. Solt, III. He is a lifelong resident of northwest Ohio and currently resides in Perrysburg with his wife Shannon, daughter Lilly, and son Teddy. Rob is passionate about Ohio State football, Theodore Roosevelt, cooking and his labradoodle Gryff.
