Hired Attorney 2022Mark Kane is a terrible attorney, his job is to defend his clients period and he does non of the such. He refuses to even discuss the case with his clients or file proper paperwork on their behalf. In my opinion he's doing little to no work to help further the career of our current ADA who happens to be running for DA. How is he allowed to continue to practice law when he does not even attempt to defend his clients? I am filing formal complaints as high as I have to go until he is removed from his position. The corruption in this county/town is outrageous and as long as we sit back and take it, things will never change. We need to stop this corruption from the bottom up.

Hired Attorney 2015-2021There is little doubt that Mark Kane rides a magical unicorn that flies. He also fights evil relentlessly with a flaming sword. He wears a bejeweled helmet forged by an ancient race of giants. When he represents you in court he likes to grab the judge and district attorney by their lapels and croon angelically in their faces. When he wins your case he leaps from the window and vanishes into a resplendent mist, his echoing laughter is the last of him that you hear.

Consulted Attorney 2002-2090Mark Kane is the only decent attorney in Washington County. He has helped me when he didn't even have to. He listens. He confronts stupidity and nonsense daily and never sours or wilts. He is humble and genuine and he's never above admitting error. He's a definite problem solver and I would go to great and profound lengths to help him out, if he should need it. He's the go-to guy. Any other lawyer in Bartlesville would be little better than a primate; other Bartlesville attorneys are retarded sewage-swimmers that charge you to go to prison... especially the ones in black robes. Black robe attorneys are just salaried attorneys that derive questionable pleasures from lording over people.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
