    Hired Law firm 2016-2017
I figured he being ex da he would know the right route to get my charges dropped. I had signed witness statements, also a letter from post master himself threating to quit delivering mail on the street in wich my incedent had took place where I was allegedly driving wreckless(I was avoiding massive potholes) but no. Gene sold me out to that da so he could have his conviction rate or whatever the angle. All I know is I didn't assault anybody especially not an officer but still yet I'm looking at time for assault on officer. I left home in a hurry without lacing my boots and officer stepped on strings while I was cuffed, said I kicked him in the shin! Payed him 5000$ so I can bend over and take it from the state. When in all fairness I should have been clear of all charges just on technicalities seeing how the arresting officer didn't pull me over. He wanted to but I quickly parked at my buddies and was on porch when he pulled up behind my car. Gene sits and eats lunch with the opponent he is supposedly defending you from. Don't know how he sleeps at night.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
