Austin Browning - Norman, OK

Raised in rural Dibble Oklahoma, Austin knew at an early age he wanted to be involved in law and politics. Austin attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he was a Cum Laude honors graduate, president of the criminal justice club, and scholar of the year in 2017 for both the Political and Social Science departments.

From there he attended Oklahoma City School of Law, where he was awarded membership into the Board of Barristers for outstanding trial advocacy, and was also a contributing editor to the Oklahoma County Judges Bench Book.

Austin began his professional career as a licensed legal intern in the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office where he was assigned to a felony docket, assisted with misdemeanor as well as juvenile deprived cases. He then served District 6 in Grady and Caddo Counties as an Assistant District Attorney and handled a plethora of different cases including criminal and juvenile matters, tried multiple cases to a jury and received convictions. Including 3 counts of life in an aggravated child abuse case.

Austin most recently worked as an Assistant Tribal Prosecutor for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma where he handled felony and juvenile deprived cases, led training for Lighthorse officers & observed numerous forensic interviews. Austin’s trial experience includes achieving a conviction in one of the first jury trials held by a sovereign native nation since the McGirt decision was made by the U.S. Supreme Court.
