Hired Law firm 2026Mark Myles did a horrible job he represented my son in a very serious case. He was late to court, couldn't get in contact with him, he prepared for court after 3 years, 3 days before his trial. So in my eyes he's trash. I would never recommend him to anyone matter a fact he probably needs to retire. I am going to seek an appeal with another lawyer and he will be fired.

Hired Law firm 2024-2025Horrible! Would not hire. Never returns calls or texts. Always late for court. When trial started he was not prepared. Never briefed me before court. After court the person going against me in a civil matter had a warrant for their arrest and slipped through the system. Attorney should had known this. Asked me what questions he should ask durring trial. Didn't even know what was in police report. Read through it durring trial. Then made a joke to the judge about me bc I didn't have the answers to the questions he was asking. Complete garbage. Save your money and don't hire him. Walked out of court in worse shape than I did before I started. He was 3 hours late to trial! Had an ex gf and former employee i fired put a restraining order on me for retaliation. Then he set both restraining orders back to back at the same time and same date! My ex and former employee to testify for one another while employee i fired had a warrant for their arrest and mark never looked into anything before trial. I found out after court that plaintiff had a warrant for their arrest. I can't make this stuff up!

Hired Law firm 2024Garbage! I needed to post pone my court date bc my dad wasn't doing well and he never contacted the court as he was asked to. 3 weeks prior. Causing me to have to leave my dad early hoping he would do ok without me. The friend that referred me also has had issues with communication. This man has been paid in full so no reason not to respond. Horrible communication.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
