    Hired Law firm 2024
This is a ZERO star establishment! This company is nothing but crooks! They took thousands of dollars to "work on our case" and did not accomplish anything. There was minimal contact received by "our team" that was made up of not one attorney/accountant. In the last conference call, after paying for months, it was clear that our case leader had no knowledge about our case. He asked questions that were provided during our intake and on multiple documents we provided. During this call, I asked what additional was needed and sent over immediately. When I reached out to our team asking what work had been done on our case I was told that this information did not need to be provided to me due to the type of contract I had signed. I NEVER signed anything stating that a status update would not be provided. That is RIDICULOUS! Upon repeatedly asking multiple team members and only receiving rude replies, I reached out to multiple members in the firm found on their website. In which I received reply that I refused to give them requested documents and provided fraudulent information. I was told that they had completed 75% of the work but I was the reason they could not proceed. I then asked if my case was not going to be resolved, I expected a refund for the thousands spent. After months and multiple followups, I received an email back that no refund was due given the amount of work that was done, but that they als were not going to do anything further with our case. I wonder how long they would have scammed us out of money if I had not pushed for a status update. A company doing honest, quality work would have no problem answering this question as I think any customer deserves to understand what is being done when paying significant money. I wanted to understand the status of my case so I could properly prepare. This company is out to take advantage and hard earned money from people who are trying to dig out of a poor situation. They are VERY responsive however until you sign!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
