Consulted Attorney 2024-2025This chump Scott Anthony Troy was assigned to represent my brother in federal court. He did not represent him in any way that I see. His office is in a building that's open only Monday through Friday he openly admits he doesn't go there during the week he goes there on the weekends so after he never responds to calls or emails I go down there on the weekend in hopes of being able to catch Mr Troy at his office. But I encounter there is a locked door The building is locked for the weekend so this guy has an office that he admittedly does not go to during the week he only goes in the weekends that way none of his disgruntled clients or clients family can go and confront him personally because they can't confront him via email and they can't confront him via phone he is inaccessible he is taking money from Morelaw and he makes zero files on this defendants behalf I'm not a stranger to the legal system this guy to me looked like he was an extension of the prosecutor's arm than he was a representative for his defendant. I've asked for a copy of his file 3 years later I have no response nothing from this man whatsoever needless to say my brother's sentencing day the prosecutor was organized he walked up to the podium with a briefcase open the briefcase and systematically went through his closing arguments. This man's got Troy also had a briefcase he carried it with him up to the podium as he gave a weak character witness for my brother saying from what I've heard he's a great guy he'll give you anything if you need it. That's the extent of his closing arguments. My brother was sent to prison there was a sentencing error. I even noticed the error he did not bring the error up In any way shape or form during closing arguments. So, I'd given up on this man and his legal abilities or unwillingness to represent my brother. I put all my hopes on his appeal attorney. Which is a pill attorney did bring up the air stated emphatically that it was a flagrant error and ask for my brother sent it to be adjudicated and corrected. But because Mr Troy here did not bring up the air My brother was sent to a high medium low max security federal penitentiary. Two weeks before the judge was to see my brother's appeal papers and the air that the lawyer had brought to his attention My brother died because of high security and the conditions that he was kept in in prison that he never should have been in in the first place. He should have been a lower security and kept under much better conditions than he was kept for a year in that hell hole. To this day Scott Troy has not ever sent me a copy of the file to show any kind of briefs or anything he might have filed my brother's behalf which is nothing he filed nothing. My brother sent us was going to be cut in half from 210 months to 205 with two years served he would have been out soon on home confinement or cuz he would have been eligible cuz he was not a danger to society. If you love any family member that is having to go through this do not let any lawyer from more law group or Scott Anthony Troy be his representative because they do nothing but get guilty pleas on the regular. I've read every verdict they've ever gotten and I've only seen three out of thousands that were remotely positive for the defendant. So we're talking like 002% or maybe 0.00002% positive results for defendants if you love your family do not allow them to be listed as legal representative for them. Mr Troy should be disbarred for his ineptiness, unwillingness, and/or lack of knowledge of the law he is a joke as far as I'm concerned he's lazy he will not return calls he will not return emails he will not file anything on his defendant's behalf he just collects a check from more law and he goes home and hides in his house or his office on the weekends in fear that someone may retaliate against him for what he has done to his defendants complete disgrace as an attorney

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
