Patrick H. Kernan is Of Counsel with the Helton Law Firm. He has been in the active practice of law in Oklahoma since 1975. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Administration and earned his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University, graduating in the top 10% of his law school class. He is permitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Oklahoma, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Kernan has focused his law practice on civil litigation, business contract law, estate planning, and probate law. He has tried more than 80 cases to verdict in state and federal courts dealing with trust & estate disputes, commercial transactions, business torts, bad faith insurance claims, oil & gas, securities fraud, fiduciary claims, and personal injury litigation. In addition, Mr. Kernan has represented the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners for over forty (40) years and in such capacity has tried over 150 administrative cases before the Board of Bar Examiners related to character & fitness of individuals who have made applications to practice law in Oklahoma.
