Verified ClientHired Attorney 2015-2020My wife and I worked with Kim on taking care of some back taxes issues and debt issues. Her compassion and attention to detail was amazing. She walked us thru the process and assisted us every step of the way to completion of our payment schedules and court proceedings. She really helped us get our life and finances back on track and we are debt free and doing great. Highly recommend her.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2015-2020Kim is very good at her job. She was able to tell all the information I needed to know about my chapter 13. She was always able to answer my questions I had. Most of all I found that she understands how I felt through the process also. I would certainly recommend her to anyone that ever ask me.

Attorney Information
Overview
I grew up in Sandy, Oregon, and I am an outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy walking, hiking, biking, jogging and swimming. I was interested in the law as a way to help people with their problems.
I attended Oregon State University and earned my B.S. Degree with a minor in Political Science. I graduated with summa cum laude honors. I worked with Audrey Back at ASOSU student advising office and learned that helping students with their legal issues was challenging, rewarding and never the same issue twice. Everyone had a unique issue that they needed help with.
I graduated from The University of Oregon School of Law in 1998. I clerked at a personal injury law office and learned that I could help one client at a time and make a difference in someone’s life. I found this very rewarding.
I had my son while attending law school. I learned how to balance work and family responsibilities. I offer flexible hours today as a result. I am able to meet clients in the Eugene are for later evening appointments and weekend appointments when necessary.
I charge a reasonable fee for my services. I understand the financial strain most people are experiencing. I have been a single parent and also dealt with student loans and unexpected medical expenses. I know how challenging these issues are.
My goal is to help clients get a fresh start and get ahead of their debts so they can live happy and healthy lives. Families deserve to plan for their own retirement and save for their children’s college education.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
