Jenna Richards - Portland, OR

Jenna Richards is a committed criminal defense attorney who focuses on protecting the rights of individuals facing charges at every level of the criminal justice system. Her practice includes representing clients in matters ranging from minor violations and misdemeanors to serious felony and Measure 11 cases. Jenna is known for her thoughtful preparation, clear communication, and strong courtroom advocacy.

Prior to joining Gilroy Napoli Short, Jenna built her defense practice in Washington County, where she handled both court-appointed and privately retained cases. She also played an active role in the county’s Early Case Resolution docket, working to resolve matters efficiently while safeguarding her clients’ long-term interests. With experience appearing in courts throughout Oregon, Jenna brings confidence, professionalism, and adaptability to every case she manages.

Jenna approaches her work with empathy and collaboration, recognizing that each client’s situation is unique. She takes the time to understand her clients’ concerns, explain their options, and develop personalized legal strategies aimed at achieving the most favorable outcomes possible.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, Law & Society from Pacific University, where she graduated summa cum laude. During her academic career, Jenna gained valuable practical experience through internships and volunteer work with the Washington County Juvenile Department, the Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office, and the Oregon Innocence Project.

Outside the office, Jenna enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and exploring nature. Originally from the Bay Area, she also looks forward to visits home and proudly supports her favorite local teams, especially the San Jose Sharks.
