Attorney Information
Overview
Julie is an appellate attorney who also specializes in drafting and arguing complex motions, in preparing trial documents (e.g., trial memoranda, jury instructions, verdict forms), and in providing counsel to trial lawyers on litigation and appeal-related strategy issues.
Before joining Cosgrave, she served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial and Appellate Divisions of the Oregon Department of Justice, where she earned the department's outstanding achievement award for her work on the Ninth Circuit brief in Engquist v. Oregon Department of Agriculture, a case that eventually went all the way up to the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to that, she clerked for the Honorable Virginia Linder of the Oregon Court of Appeals.
